LTCC

LTCC Multilayer Ceramic Substrates for RF Modules

Structure review, technical communication, and sourcing coordination for low-temperature co-fired multilayer ceramic substrates used in RF, communication, sensing, and miniaturized modules.

  • Low-temperature co-fired multilayers
  • RF and compact module applications
  • Drawing or Gerber review

TECHNICAL DEFINITION

What is LTCC ceramic technology?

LTCC co-fires glass-ceramic green tape, multilayer conductors, vias, and integrable passive structures at a lower firing temperature. It is used for high-frequency, compact, and multilayer interconnection designs. Dielectric properties, routing capability, and operating frequency must be confirmed against the selected material system and drawing.

Drawing review and sourcing coordination

Materials and Process Review

LTCC commonly combines glass-ceramic material systems with low-temperature co-fired conductors, enabling multilayer routing, vias, cavities, and integrated passive structures. RFQ review should cover dielectric needs, layers, line and spacing, vias, warpage, finish, and operating frequency.

  • Drawing, Gerber data, or reference sample
  • Material system, layer count, and target thickness
  • Trace, spacing, via, and pad requirements

Typical Application Areas

  • RF front ends, filters, and microwave modules
  • Antenna, communication, and high-frequency interconnect carriers
  • Sensors and miniaturized functional modules
  • Electronic assemblies requiring multilayer routing and passive integration

02

Quality and Documentation Checks

Checks can cover substrate appearance, dimensions, thickness, warpage, conductor patterns, vias, pads, surface finish, continuity, packaging, and batch documents. Acceptance criteria should follow the approved drawing and sample.
